Playing Piano

Playing piano is as easy as A,B,C. It all start with knowing the keys on the piano in other to know how to play the piano with ease. You can learn how to play the piano/keyboard within the shortest period of time if you put your mind to it. The keys on the piano are usually represented by the alphabets "A" to "G". These Alphabets used to represent the keys on the piano may be MAJOR or MINOR.


Running the major scale on the piano involves using the principle: tone, tone, semitone, tone, tone, tone, semitone. There is always a note between a TONE while playing the keyboard, while there is no note between SEMITONE i. e. you press the next note or key of the piano.


As a beginner, you will start your lesson on how to play the piano with ease with the major key "C". The major scale on the key "C" on the piano is playing the white keys throughout. If you have ever seen the piano, you will discover that the piano keys are made up of Seven White keys and five Black keys arranged in twos and threes.


When you run a complete major scale on the piano you have completed an OCTAVE. As you move from one octave to the other, you will discover that the PITCH will increase. These are little little things you need to know in playing the piano.


In running or playing the minor scale on the piano, you apply the principle: tone, semitone, tone, tone, semitone, tone, tone. Playing minor scale on the white keys of the piano all through is playing the Key "A" minor.
